Okay, so: German court decided on Jan. 20th 2022 that sites will need to host Google fonts locally.

Visitors are otherwise entitled to receive 100€ in recompensation for Google fonts transferring IP numbers to Google servers.
Google uses fonts to track users, especially if they are logged into only one other server, where stored personal data might identify them.

@douginamug the days that macos had a major leap over linux abd windows are long gone. Most important things macos still has is application support and seamless hardware integration. Still nice. But not as big a gap than say in 2005 or 2015.

@maltimore Although I like bitwarden, I keep relying on non browser integrated password managers with local files. Keepass, keepassxc.

Sow dat was de Corona denk ik. Donderdag puber positief getest en daarna zelf twee dagen grieperig. Maar ik ben er weer :-)

@ligthert no never tried it up till now. I need more family and friends to run their own nextcloud instance to try that πŸ˜†

Is there like a good "system explorer"? W

@jasper there is 'htop' which is a lot fancier than top. or maybe look at netdata.cloud?

Last year we hired Robert to help us with the tech support and development part time while finishing his CS degree and now we're looking for our first full-time engineering hire! Exciting times!

Are you enthusiastic about open source software and online privacy? Want to help us degoogle a few more sites? Take a look:

@ligthert If you need another Linux distro for your trial list, might I suggest Zorin16. I've been sceptical for 16 years, but this might work for me.

@ligthert All nice and such, but how to get the people you want on the chat tool of choice. I try to move to signal. Not that it is in any way perfect, but it is a lot better then whatsapp and is actually usable by the masses.

Als ik de lokale timeline bekijk dan post de spreuk van de dag wel iets vaker dan eenmaal per dag een spreuk ...

To migrate mail from a now free G Suite account to something selfhosted, I figured something with ISPConfig3 would be fine for mailhosting. Need to check the details on mailinglists, but I reckon mailman should be good enough.

Yesterday I setup a new webhosting server managed with ISPConfig3. The automated installed does make it very easy to deploy. Now find out if maintenance is doable too. And if security is OK enough for my needs.

@mdbraber @metbril @ton ah dat geld valt erg mee. Misschien een idee om meerdere admins te hebben? En een sponsor voor de hosting?

I don't know what happened to Evolution in Zorin, but I think it is the first time it appears fast and snappy. Nice :-) I'm so used to it performing much like Microsoft Outlook, which is somewhat slowish at times.

Yesterday I deactived both my twitter and instagram accounts. So if I can refrain from logging back in the next thirty days, they will be gone forever. There is still the facebook account, the linkedin account and ofcourse mastodon.nl πŸ˜ƒ

Buy these books, support charity, become a security expert and then #ditchcyber, because you understand why... humblebundle.com/books/cyberse

Ok if you tried Linux on the desktop and was not completely convinced, you should really put Zorin16 on your 'to try' list. I run Zorin BTW. It is nice.
