Up until now I have been reluctant to do back-2-back runs. Always 1 recovery day between runs.
But after a few years of continues running and strength training I am now ready to try to run 2 days in a row again.
I hope that my body has become strong enough in the meantime to keep injuries at bay
.
So from today 4 runs per week of which 2 on consecutive days.
@Johan_Barelds It's so important to listen to our bodies.
@Johan_Barelds I've been doing that for a few years and find having no problems doing so.
@hvdmeer
Good to hear .
And did you have often injuries before that? For myself I am also curious if I am still getting away with it now I am older (59 year). As you know one needs more time to recover at higher age.
@Johan_Barelds As a slow runner on those backtoback days, I don't think I can say no injury related to this.
Perhaps just take your time to build up to longer distances
@hvdmeer
Thanks! Did that already (last year 50km Ultra event) but in combination with cycling as cross-training (3 runs every other day, 2 bike rides on non-running days). So now I am planning to do 4 runs a week and maybe 1 bike ride and rest of the days strength training.
