Finally set up a music player again on my #RaspberryPi . In the end I settled for #Volumio, which seems to have all kinds of streaming and other functionalities, but for simply playing your #FLAC and #MP3 files, it's pretty easy - no account or whatsoever needed.
For some reason the android app, to control the player and browse my library, didn't find my pi. I'm using the app #VolumioControl instead, which works like a charm.

I initially set up #MoOde instead of Volumio, and also this seemed relatively simple to set up until I ran into a problem of not being able to set my configuration. It seems this is behaviour known for this audio player, but other than trying a fresh image there did not seem to be a clear solution: https://moodeaudio.org/forum/showthread.php?highlight=rotary%20encoder&tid=5668
After trying a number of times with a fresh image and a fresh SD card, I gave up.
Did you consider #Moode Audio Player as well? Great #FOSS audiophile #audiosystem as well.
A bit more steep to get it running, compared to Volumio, but leightweight and very stable. I am enjoying it sofar.
Oh wait, I see you started of with it.... To steep...
@voorstad
I'll check it again in a while, when they found out what causes this issue and fixed it with more than "try a fresh image". ;)
Then again, iirc the first mention was years ago ...
I installed a new image last week, on a RPI4 and a HifiBerry hat, without an issue.
Are you using the original powersupply? Did you try another sd card?
@voorstad this is on a 3B+ with HifiBerry DAC+ Pro. As written in the earlier toot, I indeed tried a fresh SD card. And retried several times.
Furthermore, the power supply is indeed the original one, although I haven't had issues with others.
The original post and last post in the forum link that I added sum it up. The Set button doesn't do anything, and when you reboot, it freezes. I simply followed the step-by-step guide of MoOde, so not sure where anything could go wrong.
