Am going to choose a disc to play this morning, without looking, & as they are in no particular order, it'll be interesting to see what I come up with. #vinyl

THE SIMPSONS
Do The Bartman
1991 UK 7” single
A little something to satisfy the sentimental 14 year old in me.
No other explanation needed.
Next up in my Sunday vinyl listening is a compilation album of folk music called "Rave On" from 1974. It was in the stack of inherited records of unknown genre even though I knew already because of the mentions of Steeleye Span and Maddy Prior, just because I didn't want to forget to play it. It's quite fun, and includes SS covering the title track, which is probably most associated with Buddy Holly.
I've put the Steeleye Span albums in the 1970s pop/rock section but maybe I should make a specific folk section instead (which is right now grouped in with classical). There are a lot of records, I bought furniture specifically to hold all these.
Sunday night at 6:00 CDT (23:00 UTC) it's another episode of my #radio show, the #Vinyl Revival Hour, on #KUZU 92.9 FM in #Denton TX, streaming at https://kuzu.fm
Tonight’s show is tracks from albums that were chosen blindly from my record shelves.
BERT JANSCH
Jack Orion
1971 U.S. pressing
Sending this one out to @revivalrecords ; after watching the clip he sent me of Jansch & McTell playing together, it drove me right to my favorite Bert record, which features John Renbourn playing second guitar on four songs.
One of the great Scots ever.

I have a stack of the inherited records whose genre I couldn’t figure out from the album cover and artist name, so I’m playing them so that they may be shelved appropriately.
This one turns out to be sort of midcentury lounge jazz (not an official genre); Acker Bilk was an English clarinettist. Seems more like evening cocktail music than tea music to me, but it’s no longer 1967.

One fine album. Love all tracks.
The track Hero was included as a hidden bonus track on the CD edition. It is included as part of the bonus LP "Flippin' the 'B' sides".
