So, my @kobo e-reader broke during an update. Had to Factory Reset.

But, apparently the network-activation for this "old device" is broken.

After two(!) hours with support, I was told they could not help me, and I should "go find a windows machine, it might work".

Virtualbox to the rescue. Seems fixed now.

Why don't they just support Linux is beyond me. It's an f*ing USB MTP device, FFS

@berkes ironic, as I seem to recall, when I did some Kobo hacking in the past, their readers run a linux kernel/distro?

@mrb yea. They did. There used to be a sshdaemon on board.
