A Dutch colleague of mine told me about their holiday plan to fly to Paris and then to experience that "amazing long distance train" all the way to Berlin! In Berlin they'll only take trams and maybe rent bikes!
And then to fly back to Amsterdam.
She was not joking and I'm considering banging my head into a wall.
@Pepijn got a new neighbor. He works in London and flies back and forth at least once a week. Never took the train, because the employer pays the plane tickets.
He asked for them to pay for the train. They agreed, and he took it for a spin. He now keeps taking the train, because it is easier, it takes less time, he can actually work on it, and the office is a short walk from st Pancras...
He had assumed that flying would always be faster and easier, so he had never thought of it before.
