Next up in my Sunday vinyl listening is a compilation album of folk music called "Rave On" from 1974. It was in the stack of inherited records of unknown genre even though I knew already because of the mentions of Steeleye Span and Maddy Prior, just because I didn't want to forget to play it. It's quite fun, and includes SS covering the title track, which is probably most associated with Buddy Holly.
I've put the Steeleye Span albums in the 1970s pop/rock section but maybe I should make a specific folk section instead (which is right now grouped in with classical). There are a lot of records, I bought furniture specifically to hold all these.
I don’t see the full album on YouTube but here’s the title track https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VXhystm-Hek
I heard a thump and turned around to see Spiegel had jumped up beside the bedroom speaker. It’s been a while since I’ve had new music to add to the “Spiegel Likes This” playlist. Well, if he likes Steeleye Span, I have so many of those albums.
