Something tells me that the climate crisis is mostly ignored....
Wat..........een..........waanzin!
@jurjen_heeck dan hangen er op dat moment meer dan 3 miljoen mensen in de lucht
@jurjen_heeck do you mean climate? Bizar Numbers!!
@michielminded Oops, typo fixed.
@jurjen_heeck
Using 200 as the average number of passengers on those planes, that's probably too high, indicates that there were less than 5 million climate science deniers flying that day.
It's the rich people that are polluting the vast majority of carbon dioxide because they don't want anything to get in the way of them doing what they want to do.
@GreenFire @jurjen_heeck yes, only 11% of the worlds population got in a plane in 2018 https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S0959378020307779
@jurjen_heeck It’s very upsetting. People should especially not fly for domestic travel. Use the train. If the journey by train or car takes too long then don’t do the trip. I think if people travelled by train more in the US it would drive improvements for rail travel. I personally have been using Amtrak for my travel since 2019. It’s expensive and it takes more time, but it’s worth it for the climate, It’s also relaxing and a nice way to meet new people.
@jurjen_heeck
Something tells me, most of the traffic is on northern hemisphere.
@jurjen_heeck What are all the #assholes doing up there?
@jurjen_heeck @airwhale We really are heading towards (if we’re not already there) a ‘The Day The Earth Stood Still’ moment.
