It's Friday, so here is another FediCoven question.

Question 19
January 31, 2025:
How do you celebrate the midpoint between the Winter Solstice and the Spring Equinox? (Imbolc)
------
All who are walking their path are welcome.
@HeliaXyana With candles and flowers and finally letting myself think about my goals and hopes for the year!
That sounds good. Does that take the form of meditation?
@HeliaXyana Yes, and tarot. I do sort of already know what I hope to do this year, Imbolc is about setting that as active intentions with plans of action too
What about you, what's your plans?
I don't much focus on the divination part precisely because it feels I have a vision and path ahead of me, this is when I start walking it. If that makes sense... I answered the original question here:
@HeliaXyana Sounds great!
@elaurian @HeliaXyana Meanwhile I need to see if I can find a way to learn my ogham runes. I've had them made, now to figure out their meanings. :)
@HeliaXyana This will be my first Imbolc, I'm excited! I have decided to dedicate a journal as a book of shadows that day, and I will start getting seeds planted indoors so I can move the sprouts outside in warmer weather
Next year I would like to save snow to melt in a ritual to "unfreeze" myself from old/stagnant thinking and energy
I used to do something like that with an ice cube. I'd hold it in my hand as I took a shower. Have not done that in ages, but it was very cathartic.
That sounds nice. Any specific methods of divination linked to this time?
@HeliaXyana This year for Imbolc, I will be drinking tea (as usual), meditating in a hollow tree, and maybe taking part in a sex-ritual or two.
Oh, a hollow tree sounds like a profound place for meditation.
Do you go to certain organized sex-rituals?
I have meditated in many trees including ones hollowed out by fire after being struck by lightning. The one I will be going to grew over a log which has since rotted away leaving a hollow space it eir roots. There are few places in which I can achieve a deeper and more instantaneous meditation than within a living tree.
The sex-rituals are more of a casual thing usually.
@HeliaXyana Imbolc is an acknowledgment to me we are another step on the path towards spring.
I’ll light candles tonight and think of hopes for this coming year.
I’ll sow some flower seeds today and eat home grown food.
For nature and creativity I will be hedge laying and hurdle making today and tomorrow.
In laying the hedge it will stimulate new growth while in time making a stronger, safer home for wildlife. It will help to increase nature’s biodiversity. #Imbolc
